Maeve Riley

Maeve Riley is a unique clothing boutique, located in the South Park area of sunny San Diego, California. We feature stylish, sexy and fun styles and tasteful accessories from the most popular designer brands for both men and women. Maeve Riley promises to excite the senses of fashion-conscious shoppers who appreciate and look for clothing styles that combine simplicity with beauty in artistic designs for everyday wear.

Owner Michelle Smith opened Maeve Riley in the summer of 2006. This former pre-school teacher and hair stylist decided to take on a new role as a retail business owner and found aquaint store front in the up and coming neighborhood of Southpark in San Diego, California. She was destined for this new chapter in her life after she and her photographer husband were struggling to have a child and all her friends and family were turning to her for fashion advice and guidance.

The store name is classic Irish and inspired by her husband's lineage. Maeve means "one who intoxicates and is a joy to be around", and Riley means "brave and courageous". Both define a true fashionista.

But this story has a happy ending; or even better, a happy beginning; because Michelle and her husband just welcomed their first baby in December 2007!

With Michelle's new and primary role as mother, fait played another fortunate hand by presenting the store with its current manager/buyer, Kristin Matoba. Michelle and Kristin became fast friends after Kristin approached the store for a job. They found they had a lot in common including similar tastes in style. After leaving a management position at a hair salon herself; Kristin was also acquiring a new role in life, that of a fashion designer. She is currently going to school studying fashion and enjoys riding her bike to work; being a Southpark resident herself. She loves applying her academic knowledge and work experience to build a store that is fashion forward and beautiful, as well as to assist Maeve Riley's clientele with fashion advice and assistance.
